The Strange Case of Brian S

Politically incorrect, insensitive, nasty teacher humor below, if that will upset you don’t continue reading and if you are offended please don’t bother to tell me because I will be offended if you do.

Brian S was a well-meaning, pleasant but not too intelligent child. He worked very hard and because of that was a reasonable success in school and probably has done okay with his life.  And while 40 years ago he was managing to survive elementary school,  I doubt if he went to or needed to go to college unlike the  modern theory that all students apparently need and “should go” to college. Brian forever cemented himself into my memory and the local school lore by often signing his work in 5th grade,  “Brain” instead of Brian. I would guess that today he would be identified as L.D., E.D, M.D.,  B.D, O.D., C.D. DVD  or some equally eponymous politically correct acronym but back them between ourselves we just called him D.D. for Damn Dumb.

About safrisri

I have been a teacher since 1971 and have taught at all educational levels from pre-school to college. My college degree is general science which I arrived at after 5 years and 5 different majors. A degree as it turns out, almost as valuable and in demand as one in Neo-Bulgarian Mythology. I have been around education for around 40 years and can remember when teaching was a pleasant, happy and creative job and our schools were the same. My writings will reflect on my past mistakes and successes and what my students have taught me about education.

How can you look at yourself and respect yourself and feel that you are good person? In my experience with you and after reading this story, it does not appear that you have any professional credibility.

What is wrong with you, Mr. Safris?
