Justice and the Law

  1. Thought for the day: Has our Political/court system become less interested in providing justice and more interested in following or creating new law no matter how loosely or incorrectly it may be applied and if so, will more rules/laws cure this problem? It seems to me that judges/teachers/policemen/ etc. now tend to have their hands tied by what I call “door” policies and rules. An infinite number of doors exist but if one person ever walks through any particular door and something bad happens then a new law/rule must be made and the rest of us must then be controlled by what is found on the other side of that particular door even if the door itself was locked, posted with large Do Not Enter sign and no sane person would even consider going through it. If we continue to pass laws and make rules to protect idiots from themselves eventually all idiots will be safe and all smart creative people will be locked into the cell of absolute conformity.

About safrisri

I was a school teacher until retirement. I have taught at all educational levels from pre-school to college. My college degree is general science which I arrived at after 5 years and 5 different majors. A degree as it turns out, almost as valuable and in demand as one in Neo-Bulgarian Mythology. I have been around education for around 40 years and can remember when teaching was a pleasant, happy and creative job and our schools were the same. Now I'm the guy sitting on the porch with an opinion on everything.
