Crossing The Line of authority

Once again we see votes always breaking along party lines on almost every vote in congress. Our elected officials act like two cliques of teen-age mean girls more afraid of being different than any long term consequences. Any politician who occasionally votes against the party line, any school board member who sometimes votes against the recommendations of the superintendent, and any pundit who says just once in a contentious interview , ” I can see your point.” will have my vote and my attention. At the present time I can no longer hear what pundits and politicians say because their actions or lack of actions are just too loud!! Sadly nobody ever gets a second TV interview for being reasonable! and nobody gets any good press for crafting compromise instead they are labeled as unprincipled. I would vote for a person who was covered with political and social warts as long as they were honest about them. It is an absolute truth that it is better to deal with, “The enemy you know, than with the one you do not.”

About safrisri

I was a school teacher until retirement. I have taught at all educational levels from pre-school to college. My college degree is general science which I arrived at after 5 years and 5 different majors. A degree as it turns out, almost as valuable and in demand as one in Neo-Bulgarian Mythology. I have been around education for around 40 years and can remember when teaching was a pleasant, happy and creative job and our schools were the same. Now I'm the guy sitting on the porch with an opinion on everything.
